Senior Manager, Manufacturing Product & Test Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead NPI readiness and manufacturing ramp strategies to ensure successful product launches.
  • Oversee product engineering activities supporting manufacturing, including BOM management, configuration control, and engineering change implementation (ECO/ECN).
  • Ensure design for manufacturability (DFM), design for testability (DFT), and design for reliability (DFR) principles are embedded in product development.
  • Drive root cause analysis and resolution of product-related issues in production and the field.
  • Lead the development and deployment of manufacturing test strategies, including functional, parametric, environmental, and reliability testing.
  • Optimize test coverage, cycle time, and cost while maintaining product quality and compliance.
  • Implement advanced test technologies, automation, and data analytics to improve efficiency and insight.
  • Partner with design to ensure smooth product transfers from development to manufacturing.
  • Establish robust validation processes and pilot builds.
  • Drive readiness reviews, risk assessments, and launch performance tracking.
  • Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies to improve yield, throughput, and reliability.
  • Identify and eliminate production inefficiencies and test bottlenecks.
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards for product performance, test efficiency, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations to ensure alignment on product requirements and execution.
  • Support supplier selection and qualification for test equipment and capabilities.
  • Act as a key liaison between engineering and manufacturing teams globally.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing product and test engineering teams across multiple locations.
  • Develop organizational capability in advanced test engineering, data analytics, and product support.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Computer, or related field); Master’s degree or MBA preferred. 8-10+ years of experience in product engineering or test engineering, with at least 5+ years in a management role.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM), configuration control, and engineering change processes. Strong expertise in manufacturing test methodologies, test system design, and validation processes. Experience with DFM, DFT, DFR, and reliability engineering principles. Familiarity with automation, data acquisition systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Leadership & Business Acumen: Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and execution capabilities. Financial acumen, including capital planning and cost optimization. Track record of successful product launches and manufacturing scale-ups.
  • Skills & Competencies: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to manage complex programs and competing priorities. High level of integrity, accountability, and adaptability.
