About the role

The Mergers and Acquisitions practice at Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP focuses on helping owners and investors ease their tax burden and quantify tax exposures in various transactions. Services provided include tax due diligence, tax structuring, quantitative tax modeling, transaction agreement review, and consultation.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely work directly with c-suite executives on financial due diligence for middle-market companies across various industries.
  • Collaborate with private equity firms, strategic clients, and investment banks on buy-side and sell-side due diligence and other M&A tax activities.
  • Manage all aspects of deal execution, including client relationship management, deliverable execution, and coaching of team members.
  • Coordinate services with other practice areas within the firm.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through networking and business development activities.
  • Lead and supervise engagement teams, providing both leadership and training to staff, seniors, and managers.
  • Manage multiple client engagements effectively, demonstrating strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Show proficiency in analytical, presentation, and marketing skills, ensuring clear communication with clients.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to client locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with a Master’s degree in Taxation or a JD with LLM in taxation preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience, preferably in a public accounting or law firm setting.
  • Experience in tax due diligence and M&A tax consulting is highly desirable.
  • Proven supervisory and training experience, with a minimum of 4 years.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including both verbal and written communication.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Pay

The pay rate range for this position is $179,850 to $340,970. Actual compensation is influenced by relevant factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
