About the role

The Senior Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) provides direction and support for all EH&S activities, including implementation, monitoring, and review of C&W compliance and performance across the US.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and lead the deployment of C&W’s EH&S programs to ensure safety is part of day-to-day operations at each site within Project and Development Services.
• Effectively communicate C&W’s safety culture and operating philosophies.
• Identify possible losses; evaluate risk; develop and implement plans to correct or prevent loss; and audit plan effectiveness.
• Maintain and update SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment, utilizing them in day-to-day training.
• Coordinate regulatory agency inspections to minimize and correct deficiencies; collaborate with Project Leads and site management on deficiencies and monthly safety inspections.
• Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements.
• Review accidents and incidents, conduct field audits, report findings, and manage corrective actions.
• Support Workers Compensation (WC) claims tracking, investigation, and management; liaise with WC Program Manager and benefits group on injury management and rehabilitation.
• Ensure compliance with all EH&S record-keeping requirements, including corporate and regulatory documentation (e.g., auditing, training, medical, and OSHA records).
• Participate in site inspections and third-party audits to verify regional compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
• Travel to corporate and client offices as required.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure the online safety training platform meets industry standards and OSHA requirements.
• Collaborate with other service lines and global EH&S to implement programs and initiatives employed across C&W.
• Review Policies & Procedures specific to EH&S; support sites in preparation of Emergency Procedures and Tenant Emergency Procedures manuals.
• Develop standards and processes for common environmental issues in commercial buildings (e.g., asbestos, fuel oil storage tank management, indoor air quality, mold remediation, and water intrusion).
• Attend new business presentations to discuss relevant EH&S topics.
• Work independently on a wide range of moderately complex projects/assignments to achieve performance targets with major impact on results.

Requirements

• 7+ years’ experience (or equivalent) in Environmental Health and Safety.
• Safety Certification (CSP or CIH) preferred.
• Demonstrable success in Systems Management across multiple accounts/sites.
• Subject Matter Expertise in EHS and relevant US Standards.
• Well-versed in OH&S legislation and regulation.
• Well-developed research and report writing skills.
• Sound investigative and auditing skills supported by formal training.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Safety, Engineering, or related sciences preferred.

Pay

The compensation for this position is $157,250.00 - $185,000.00.
