Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management (Chemical Industry)
About the role
An international frontrunner in commercial explosives and blasting technology, with operations running across several continents, is seeking a Senior Manager Risk & Insurance to join its Salt Lake City headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Pinpoint and track critical controls covering material operational hazards within a high-hazard industrial setting
- Earn the trust of Americas leadership and act as the connective link between the global corporate center and the regional team
- Embed ISO 31000 practices across functions spanning operations, supply chain, finance, legal, and HR
- Drive loss scenario and exposure analysis that shapes both mitigation strategy and insurance decisions
- Create and upkeep risk registers, risk dashboards, and risk reporting for senior leadership and governance forums
- Run risk assessments and keep risk registers, dashboards, and reporting current for senior leadership
- Contribute to the global insurance program by liaising with U.S. brokers and insurers and handling exposure analysis
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years in enterprise or operational risk gained within complex industrial environments
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or risk management, with technical degrees given preference
- A track record in the nuclear, oil and gas, or mining sectors
- Practical experience applying ISO 31000 or comparable ERM frameworks across several business functions
- Certification such as RIMS-CRMP, IRM, or PMI-RMP
- Proven ability to sway senior stakeholders and operate within a multicultural, matrixed organization
- Willingness to travel to sites across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, plus a yearly trip to Brisbane
- Spanish language ability is an advantage
