About the role
The Senior Manager, End User Lifecycle Operations will oversee licensing programs, tenant management, PC procurement and lifecycle operations, and vendor, financial, and process governance. Reporting to the Director of End User Lifecycle Operations, this role is based remotely.
Responsibilities
- End User Software Licensing, True-Ups & License Management (Oversight)
- Lead the true-up/true-down process, ensuring audit-ready documentation and traceability
- Maintain an accurate license position by partnering with SAM/ITAM, endpoint engineering, identity teams, and Finance
- Establish and monitor license management processes, including request/approval flows, assignment standards, reclaim/re-harvest, and exception handling
- Produce recurring reporting on license utilization, compliance risk, and optimization opportunities; drive corrective actions with owners
- Tenant Management (Oversight)
- Provide governance and oversight for Microsoft tenant management, ensuring alignment with Security and Identity standards
- Coordinate with Identity/Security teams on role-based access, privileged access processes, and administrative change controls
- Support cross-tenant or multi-tenant considerations, including standardization, documentation, and stakeholder communications
- PC Procurement & Lifecycle Operations
- Manage PC procurement operations, including demand planning inputs, ordering workflows, vendor coordination, and purchase-to-receipt tracking
- Own asset tracking and lifecycle governance, including receiving, imaging readiness, assignment, transfers, returns, refresh, and disposition
- Lead logistical deployments, ensuring SLA adherence and clear communications to end users and site IT
- Oversee depot operations, implementing controls for chain of custody, data handling, and secure disposal processes
- Vendor, Financial & Process Governance
- Manage vendor performance for Microsoft licensing partners and PC suppliers/logistics providers, defining and improving SOPs, documentation, and controls
- Partner with Finance/Procurement to ensure spend visibility, invoice validation, and cost optimization
- Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts/coordinators or manage vendors supporting licensing operations and endpoint logistics
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for licensing and endpoint lifecycle topics for IT leadership, Service Desk, Security, Procurement, and Finance
- Drive clear communications for upcoming renewals/true-ups, refresh cycles, and deployment schedules
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in at least two of the following areas: Microsoft licensing/SAM, IT asset management, endpoint/desktop operations, procurement operations, or IT service management
- Working knowledge of Microsoft licensing concepts and ability to partner effectively with licensing specialists and resellers
- Experience managing operational processes with strong controls (approvals, audit trails, documentation)
- Experience with endpoint lifecycle operations (procurement, inventory, deployment logistics, depot/warehouse operations)
- Strong vendor management, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Advanced Excel/analytics skills; comfort producing executive-ready metrics and dashboards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft licensing optimization and usage reporting for M365 and/or Azure
- Familiarity with ITAM/SAM tools and ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow or equivalent), including asset and request workflows
- Experience with Intune/Autopilot, endpoint imaging/staging processes, and identity concepts (Entra ID) in partnership with engineering teams
- Certifications (nice to have): ITIL Foundation, IAITAM (CSAM/CHAMP), Microsoft fundamentals (e.g., MS-900/AZ-900), or procurement/supply chain certifications
Pay
$110,600.00 - $178,000.00 annually
