Senior Manager, Detection & Response (Security Engineering)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Manager Detection & Response (security Engineering) to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 annually Responsibilities Own the strategic vision and roadmap execution for the Detection & Response program Build, scale, and mentor a global engineering team across North America and India Drive the evolution of detection engineering and incident response capabilities Oversee security incident response operations and serve as Incident Commander during major security events Establish operational metrics to evaluate and improve program maturity Collaborate with Engineering and stakeholders in Legal and Compliance for proactive response integration Promote an engineering-centric security culture focused on automation and continuous improvement Qualifications 12+ years of experience in software development, security engineering, or security operations 5+ years in direct engineering or security management Proven experience in building and scaling engineering teams across multiple time zones Deep expertise in detection engineering, incident response, and threat intelligence Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent experience Benefits Flexible working environment across time zones Opportunities for professional development and team growth Work in a diverse and inclusive culture that values different perspectives Emphasis on an engineering-first approach to incident response Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
