Senior Manager, Data Analytics
Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Data Analytics role at Walmart involves leading advanced analytics strategies to drive data-informed business decisions. This role requires expertise in data sourcing, quality management, and visualization to translate complex data into actionable insights. You will collaborate across functions to align analytics initiatives with organizational goals, mentor team members, and promote continuous improvement through innovative tools and methodologies.
What you'll do
Lead analytics and reporting across Driver Earnings, Disbursements, Finance Operations, Tax, Controls, and Compliance
Develop and standardize Metrics That Matter reporting for leadership, operations, compliance, and risk visibility
Support executive and operational reporting that shows what changed, why, and where actions are needed
Lead data quality, governance, and metric standardization efforts
Turn unclear business problems into practical analytics solutions
Lead and coordinate UAT for Spark Driver initiatives, partnering with business, product, and tech teams to align testing, track issues, and support
Provide ad-hoc analysis and leadership-ready insights for incidents, escalations, and strategic initiatives
Mentor team members and promote analytics best practices
Reduce manual reporting by automation, reusable data
About the team
The Earnings Excellence Finance Data Analytics team functions as the operations analytics hub for Walmart’s EE Finance organization, enabling data-driven decisions across the network. The team delivers end-to-end visibility into Driver Earnings and Disbursements through actionable insights supporting compliance and regulatory needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Option 3: 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. 1 year's supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Data science, data analysis, statistics, or related field, Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Related industry experience (for example, retail, merchandising, healthcare, eCommerce)
- Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (for example, SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, or Tableau)
- Supervisory experience
