Senior Manager, Data Analysis - Data Management Risk and Analysis

Responsibilities

  • Partner cross-functionally with teams to validate business impacting analytical tools
  • Enhance technical and analytical skills while influencing business strategies
  • Act as a trusted data risk advisor to divisions and technology partners
  • Identify and assess potential data risks, influence stakeholders, and assess data risk across Capital One divisions
  • Refine a new Enterprise-wide analytical tools validation framework
  • Plan and execute validation projects
  • Assess the quality and risk of analytical tool methodologies across Capital One
  • Understand technical issues in analytical tools and assess tools risks and opportunities
  • Independently research, identify, and prototype industry best practices for emerging analytical tools
  • Communicate results clearly and concisely through validation reports and presentations
  • Leverage education, colleagues, and training opportunities to develop solutions to business problems
  • Coach and mentor junior staff
  • Build strong relationships with business and technology partners to become a trusted data risk advisor
  • Perform gap assessments to identify weaknesses in current data management controls/processes, technical designs, and architecture data flow diagrams
  • Propose actionable recommendations to drive organizational transformation and compliance

Requirements

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field) plus at least 7 years of experience performing data analytics
  • At least 5 years of experience performing professional data analysis work
  • At least 5 years of experience leading and developing with open source data technologies
  • At least 2 years of experience managing people

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in a Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in statistical or econometrics hands-on work
  • At least 5 years of experience manipulating and performing analysis with large data sets
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial services industry
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing statistical or econometric models
  • At least 5 years of experience in validating statistical or econometric models
  • At least 2 years of experience with data governance
  • At least 2 years of experience with predictive analytics

Qualifications

Pay

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

  • McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Data Analysis Manager
