About the role

The Senior Manager, Corporate Real Estate Development manages a team of project managers and supports development procedures for the department, developing and implementing standards, and delivering real estate solutions that meet acceptable cycle time and financial parameters. Specifically, real estate due diligence, design, engineering, and construction for all Grainger business units in North America. You will support all property acquisition and divestiture decisions that support Company strategic projects. You will manage all substantive construction and renovation activities on current properties (branches, distribution centers, office properties) that support our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to the department and lead a team of 3 Project Managers
  • Develop real estate design and construction strategy
  • Promote design and construction solutions and processes that support Company strategy decisions
  • Implement tools that assist the department in managing their work and improving processes
  • Develop prototype building standards and sizes, including signage
  • Evaluate construction techniques and implement new techniques where value is added
  • Interface and collaborate project efforts with essential partners to ensure project success
  • Accomplish project assignments to maximize strengths within the group
  • Develop reporting and measurements
  • Understand the organizational inter-relationships, not just be an expert within the construction function

Requirements

You Will:

  • Experience managing/directing building construction projects
  • Experience with contracts, blueprint reading, and specification reviews
  • Experience providing support in a corporate environment with users in multiple locations
  • Experience in execution of strategy for an organization
  • Experience managing contract service providers in completing multiple project types including construction and renovation of properties
  • Financial and budgetary experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Pay

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $113,900.00 – $189,900.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 20 % or $ , based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position requiring 50% of time onsite at either the Chicago, IL or Lake Forest, IL offices and will require approximately 25% travel.
