About the role
The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the corporate accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Sazerac's financial integrity and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the corporate accounting team, including general ledger, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and tax filings, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and other departments to support financial planning, analysis, and decision-making.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Monitor and analyze accounting trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize financial performance.
- Support special projects, system implementations, and other initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) or manufacturing industry is a plus.
