About the role

The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the corporate accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Sazerac's financial integrity and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the corporate accounting team, including general ledger, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and tax filings, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and other departments to support financial planning, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize financial performance.
  • Support special projects, system implementations, and other initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) or manufacturing industry is a plus.
