About the role

The Clinical Development Manager at Butterfly Network, Inc. is responsible for contributing the clinical perspective from POCUS customers and translating those needs into valuable clinical solutions. They will initiate, run, and support software and product integration testing and validation efforts throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, run, and support software and product integration testing and validation efforts.
  • Cultivate and maintain engaging relationships with leading POCUS influencers.
  • Work closely with clinical specialists, software, integration team, and systems engineering to validate design outputs.
  • Identify and report clinical trends via scientific congresses, customer seminars, and education events.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute plans and reports to support product development timelines.
  • Participate in system life cycle and software integration testing.
  • Participate in reviews and improvements of requirements, design documents, and overall processes.
  • Create and provide input to specific documentation, including Product Requirements Definition, Clinical Evaluation Report (CER), and Clinical Validation Plan and Report.
  • Carry out the requirements of Butterfly Network's quality procedures.
  • Provide clinical support and input cross-functionally to the design and development process as needed.
  • Support Commercial, Marketing, Clinical Application, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Perform a broad variety of tasks in support of the role and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of R&D experience or equivalent.
  • Bachelor degree in Biomedical or Ultrasound preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience utilizing Ultrasound Medical Imaging and Medical Technologies in diverse clinical environments with a firm understanding of product attributes that lead to positive user and patient outcomes.
  • ARDMS certified required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in diagnostic ultrasound with POCUS Market Expertise, current RDMS, RVT, and/or RDCS required.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Able to understand both the clinical and business needs of the customer and Butterfly Network respectively.
  • Able to translate customer needs into clear product requirements for R&D.
  • Able to think about the application of diagnostic ultrasound in non-traditional ways.
  • Able and willing to travel.

Special Attributes

  • Multilingual with fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Location

This is a hybrid position that can be based in Burlington, MA or New York City, NY. Butterfly offers a hybrid work model for most positions, with team members spending two or more days a week in the office. Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is around $185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and market demand. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
