Senior Manager, Capacity Planning
About the Role
Lila Sciences is seeking a Senior Manager, Capacity Planning to join the team as the company transitions from research into commercial-scale operations. This role will own the models, processes, and cross-functional rhythms that translate demand from go-to-market commitments and partnerships into the delivery and operational capacity required to meet it profitably. Capacity planning is the connective tissue between what we sell and what we can deliver, enabling Lila to commit confidently to customers, invest ahead of demand without waste, and grow the commercial business on a sound operational footing.
Responsibilities
- Build, own, and execute end-to-end capacity planning processes for every commercial proposal and scientific capability.
- Translate demand forecasts into resource, staffing, and capacity plans while identifying bottlenecks and quantifying the cost and lead time to close them.
- Maintain the authoritative record of capacity commitments across the active pipeline.
- Define standard units of measure, batch definitions, and workflow-to-demand mappings that connect Operations, Scientific, Commercial, and Financial data into a single Integrated Business Plan.
- Design and build the evolving toolset required to support Integrated Business Planning for the lab of the future.
- Partner with Product and deal teams to embed capacity assessment early while informing company roadmap and strategy.
- Distill complex, ambiguous operational data into clear recommendations for audiences ranging from individual scientists to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- 6-8+ years of experience in strategic finance, business or revenue operations, or operations.
- Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing a planning tool, system, or process.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to redesign workflows and drive measurable impact.
- Ability to learn a technical, scientific, or equipment landscape quickly and translate it into strategic processes.
- Experience defining a data model or planning framework from first principles, including units of measure and standard definitions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders across multiple disciplines while operating with ownership.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, operations, or a directly related technical field.
Skills
- Experience standing up a capacity or resource planning function from scratch (Bonus).
- Exposure to or technical expertise in deep-tech, biotech, life sciences, or AI/platform businesses (Bonus).
- Familiarity with building repeatable processes and systems alongside highly technical teams (Bonus).
Pay
Expected Base Salary Range: $140,000 USD - $172,667 USD. We offer competitive base compensation with bonus potential and generous early-stage equity. Your final offer will reflect your background, expertise, and expected impact.
