About the role

As a Senior Manager, Brand Insights, you will play a critical role in advancing drug development by supporting the commercial market research insights needs for inline brands and early development assets. You will be part of a high-performing team that provides actionable, innovative insights to address key business questions and opportunities. This position is based in Princeton, New Jersey, and requires 20% travel based on business needs. Otsuka maintains a hybrid work policy.

Responsibilities

  • Be a strategic partner to the commercial teams to lead the design and delivery of high-quality, applicable business insights by conducting market research projects to support pipeline, prelaunch, and inline products.
  • Oversee and deliver independently, qualitative and quantitative primary market research while identifying innovative approaches to help shape insight generation.
  • Partner cross-functionally on different strategic and analytical projects to help drive optimal business decisions.
  • Lead the design and delivery of cross-functional secondary analytics reports including leadership KPI dashboards for monitoring market and brand performance.
  • Lead in-depth situation analyses and SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) of relevant disease areas to support the annual brand planning process.
  • Lead strategic insights workshops to convert data from primary or secondary market research projects to insights and to uncover Key Business Questions (KBQs) for each brand.
  • Manage contracted vendors and contribute to and lead the development of important insights.
  • Partner in the annual forecasting cycle working with the forecasting team by incorporating demand study or other market research findings.
  • Create and manage budgets for the brands.
  • Represent the Business Analysis team in multiple business meetings.
  • Work with secondary market research data, including prescription data, patient-level data, sales data, and payer data.

Requirements

  • 7 years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience preferred with at least 3-4 years in a primary and/or secondary market research or consulting position.
  • Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate degree (Master’s/Ph.D.) in a quantitative field highly desired (Public Health, Statistics, Management Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Accounting, Business, Marketing, Economics, etc.).
  • Broad knowledge of qualitative and quantitative market research tools and techniques in pharma.
  • Proven experience and expertise integrating primary and secondary data into synthesized information and insights.
  • Strong analytical, project management, fiscal management, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interface with Executive Leadership with confidence and subject matter expertise.

Pay

Minimum $150,034.00 - Maximum $224,250.00, plus incentive opportunity. The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting pay for individuals hired in the role to perform in the United States. Other elements may be used to determine actual pay such as the candidate’s job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.
