Senior Manager, Board and Governance Advisory
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Board and Governance Advisory who has strong opinions about executive pay accountability methodology and the professional restraint not to volunteer all of them at once. You will join a Stakeholder Engagement team of 11 who are similarly opinionated and similarly restrained. The work is serious. The environment is not humorless. These are not in conflict. ACPWB is investing in its CEO pay ratio disclosure support package capability, and the Senior Manager, Board and Governance Advisory is the hire that makes that investment coherent.
This role will have significant ownership over methodology, delivery, and client relationships for a specialized set of engagements. The work is intellectually demanding. The clients are discerning. The parking situation has improved considerably since 2022. ACPWB's Fortune 500 compensation committees clients represent some of the most sophisticated consumers of executive pay accountability research in the market.
Responsibilities
- Present findings to client audiences, including compensation committees and boards of directors
- Design and execute quantitative analyses of compensation, workforce, and governance data across industries
- Identify, synthesize, and communicate market trends relevant to client engagements
- Produce written analyses suitable for publication under ACPWB's research brand
- Serve as internal subject matter expert on executive pay accountability across the firm
- Develop and maintain a library of benchmark statistics, case studies, and templates for internal use
- Manage data acquisition and vendor relationships for Mercer US Benchmark Database and other benchmarking resources
Qualifications
Required:
- 7+ years of experience in a client-facing advisory role within the real estate and construction sector or broader professional services
- 7+ years of experience in compensation consulting, HR advisory, or a related analytical field
- Working knowledge of equity compensation instruments including RSUs, options, and performance shares
- Familiarity with change management considerations related to compensation program redesign
- Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical executives
- Ability to prioritize effectively across competing client demands without requiring escalation
Preferred:
- Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP) designation
- Experience with compensation committee charter review and governance documentation
- Demonstrated expertise in CEO succession planning and associated compensation considerations
Why ACPWB
We attract people who could work elsewhere and choose to work here because the work matters, the colleagues are excellent, and Milwaukee genuinely surprised them. We are not for everyone. We are very clearly for some people, and those people tend to stay for a long time. ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve.
