Senior Manager, Applied AI

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Applied AI to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will guide enterprise AI initiatives from early definition through production deployment and ongoing optimization, with a strong emphasis on generative AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation. The ideal candidate will partner across technical teams and business stakeholders to build scalable, reusable AI capabilities that improve consistency, reliability, and cost efficiency. You will also help shape governance, evaluation, and responsible AI practices across the lifecycle of enterprise solutions.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Lead applied AI initiatives from definition to production deployment and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership across generative AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation.
• Coach and develop multidisciplinary technical teams, ensuring clear accountability and resource allocation.
• Drive reusable enterprise AI capabilities, focusing on consistency and cost reduction.
• Design and implement enterprise-grade AI solutions leveraging emerging technologies.
• Establish and improve AI evaluation and operational practices for reliability and performance.
• Embed governance and responsible AI practices throughout the AI solution lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8-10 years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, or a related field; or an advanced degree with 7 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading AI teams and complex technology portfolios in an enterprise setting.
• Proven track record of delivering AI solutions from concept to production at enterprise scale.
• Strong understanding of generative AI and large language technologies, including RAG and agentic workflows.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and AI architecture evaluation.
• Knowledge of Python and modern AI/ML frameworks, with the ability to guide technical designs without direct hands-on development.
• Experience with data governance and responsible AI frameworks.

Pay

$130,000 – $180,000 annually
