The Role
As a Senior Maintenance Technician – Diesel & Heavy Equipment (Regional Travel), you'll lead maintenance efforts across multiple sites, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mobile equipment and production systems. This role combines advanced troubleshooting and repair work with regional planning, preventive maintenance, technician development, and operational support.
You'll serve as the go-to expert for complex maintenance issues while helping standardize best practices across facilities.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair diesel-powered heavy equipment and industrial plant systems
- Lead complex troubleshooting involving hydraulics, conveyors, motors, bearings, pulleys, screeners, and production equipment
- Perform advanced electrical diagnostics, including voltage, amperage, and resistance testing
- Complete TIG and MIG welding repairs and fabrication work
- Travel to regional facilities to resolve critical equipment issues and minimize downtime
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Maintain and manage maintenance inventories, tools, and parts
- Train, coach, and mentor Maintenance Technicians Levels I and II
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and outside repair vendors
- Partner with Plant Managers and Transportation Managers to prioritize maintenance activities
- Promote safe work practices and compliance with company policies and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment, diesel, industrial maintenance, or production plant maintenance
- Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Diesel Mechanic Experience Or Certification Required
- TIG and MIG welding experience required
- Experience with industrial motors, conveyors, bearings, pulleys, and screening equipment
- Experience using CMMS systems
- Proven ability to lead maintenance activities and prioritize multiple projects
- Valid Driver's License required
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 50% throughout the region
