Senior Mainframe Storage and Backup Administrator

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Senior Mainframe Storage and Backup Administrator to strengthen forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes that guide business decisions. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. This role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage IBM DS8000/DS8950F storage arrays and related components
• Design and maintain backup and recovery strategies for mainframe systems
• Administer TS7700/TS7780 Virtual Tape Systems
• Conduct capacity planning for disk, tape, and replication environments
• Automate tasks and reporting using REXX or JCL scripting
• Provide 24/7 operational support as part of an on-call rotation
• Mentor junior team members and document technical processes

Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant experience in storage and backup administration
• Strong expertise in IBM DS8000/DS8950F and GDPS replication technologies
• Proficient in using CA storage products like CA Disk and CA Vantage
• Deep understanding of z/OS storage architecture and associated constructs
• Proven experience in backup and recovery solutions

Pay

$116,400 – $194,000 annually
