Senior Mainframe Developer/Lead

Role Overview Job Title: Senior Mainframe Developer/Lead Location : Onsite in Delaware Duration: 4 months + (extension) Start Date: ASAP Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in IBM z/OS Mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can independently manage deliverables, interact directly with client stakeholders, and drive development initiatives with minimal oversight. This role requires strong technical expertise across Mainframe development, database technologies, and production support within large enterprise environments. Mainframe Skills Experience (10+ years) in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with IBM-Z/OS Mainframe applications Experience with Mainframe development suite, COBOL, JCL, CICS, MQ, VSAM including both batch and real-time processes. CICS Main view, REXX, CLIST Proficient in FTP/NDM/File-Mover, CA-7, IBM Utilities, Intertest, File Aid, TSO/ISPF/SDSF, File Manager, Changeman, SORT Experience with debug tools like Xpediter Strong Database design and development skills in IMS DB, DB2, DB2 SQL and Stored Procedures Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ messaging solution Exposure to distributed Technologies Java, Kafka, Rest Web Service, XML Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and support secure, high-quality production code using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS.Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application issues in production and non-production environments.Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams.Identify opportunities to automate recurring issues and improve application stability and operational efficiency.Participate in Agile ceremonies, estimate user stories, and document development activities in JIRA.Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, security policies, risk management controls, and development best practices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, business analysts, and client stakeholders.Drive development activities independently with minimal supervision.Support large-scale enterprise applications and mission-critical systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating Mainframe systems with distributed applications.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Prior experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or large enterprise organisations.
