Job Summary Responsible for analyzing and implementing improvement initiatives related to IFA supply chain receiving to inbound and manage outbound capacities. Designs, specifies and implements material flow and storage improvements based on Lean Manufacturing methodologies and processes to optimize productivity and reduce costs associated with material movements for incoming, in-process, storage and outbound transportation of materials. Essential Functions Work to continually improve flow of parts to achieve better cycle times and reduced costs through optimization of material flow with suppliers, partners (3PLs) and customersApprove and maintain all applicable PFEP data and records in both a database and ERP systemEstablish, maintain, and communicate material flow specificationsInvestigate material flow issues and coordinate resolution both internally and externallyCoordinate optimized material flow processes with consideration of impact to other departmentsDevelop and maintain KPIs to measure and improve material flow to production and along the external supply chain.Provide cost estimates for material handling activity for new program quotesSupport and contribute to lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, Kanban, poka-yoke, Kaizen, visual management, 1-piece flow, etc.Recommend and plan material handling and equipment as appropriateKeep management abreast of progress, developments and pending issuesEnsure maintenance of quality standards in compliance with TS16949Perform special projects as neededProvide training to personnel as neededAll employees are responsible for having an awareness and understanding of IFA North America’s commitment to ISO 14001Deliver work purchases on time to meet customer / internal project milestones.Coordinate selection and design of packaging containers with suppliers, customers, and logistics partners (returnable and expendable)Develop and maintain metrics to measure and improve material flow to productionProvide cost estimates for material handling activity for new program quotesAll other job duties as assigned. Education Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering Required. Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field may be considered if they possess significant industrial engineering experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills.
