Senior Living Dishwasher
About the role
Merrill Gardens at Columbia, SC is seeking a Dishwasher to join their team. The ideal candidate is compassionate, caring, responsible, and honest, with a genuine love for working with the senior population.
Responsibilities
- The Dishwasher is responsible for performing various kitchen cleaning and storage activities including dish washing, pot washing, general equipment cleaning, storage and overall janitorial duties in the kitchen and dining areas, and busing tables.
- Adheres to customer service philosophy by providing excellent customer service to residents, their families, and Team Members.
- Cleans pots, pans, and dishes following prescribed procedures found in Company Policy and Procedure for Kitchen Sanitation.
- Aids the cooks in preparation of the breakfast, lunch or dinner meals.
- Prepares dishwasher machine for next dishwashing period.
- Records wash, rinse and sanitize levels on the Dish Machine Temperature Log Sheet.
- Handles all foods, storage, and cleaning activities in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards in compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food storage, cleaning and preparation.
- Completes all cleaning duties on daily, weekly, or monthly cleaning schedules.
- Removes all garbage from the kitchen and dish room.
- Mops the dish-room and kitchen floors twice daily and as needed.
- Fulfills closing procedures as outlined in Company Policies and Procedures as the last employee to leaving the kitchen, at the end of the shift.
- Assists with other duties including prep work, hot or cold line assistance, food storage, dating and labeling, and busing tables.
Requirements
This role requires frequent standing, walking, and manual handling of materials up to 50 lbs. Regular bending, lifting, and reaching are also part of daily responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in a similar role. Previous experience in a senior living facility is preferred but not required.
Skills
Strong attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and a positive attitude are essential skills for this position.
