Senior Living Caregiver

About the role

Merrill Gardens at Huntington Beach is currently seeking Caregivers to support residents within our community. Ideal candidates are passionate about working with seniors and dedicated to providing an atmosphere that values individualism and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Absorb and follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Avoid the use of offensive language and maintain a positive attitude at all times.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, meals, laundry, and general care.
• Manage medication as allowed by the state and complete daily progress reports of services provided.
• Complete progress reports for Assisted Living & Garden House residents daily or more often if needed.

Requirements

• Current caregiver training/certification as specified by state agency or the ability to obtain.
• CNA license or two years previous experience as a caregiver.
• Ability to obtain first aid/CPR certification within 30 days of employment.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and assisting with resident care.
• Bending, reaching, and physical movement throughout the workday.

Actual pay rate within stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire.

Schedule

Hours vary based on department needs and preferences. Part-time and full-time positions available.
