Senior Linux Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer (Day, Night or Weekend Shift - TS/SCI with Polygraph required)
A day in the life
We are seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator/Engineer to support a highly available, mission-critical enterprise environment serving the Intelligence Community. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based infrastructure, virtualized environments, and application platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Red Hat/CentOS systems, VMware, system security, and enterprise application support, with a strong focus on operational reliability, performance, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS).
- Support mission-critical infrastructure to ensure high availability, stability, and security.
- Install, configure, maintain, and support JBoss application servers.
- Create, configure, and manage VMware virtual machines and supporting infrastructure.
- Implement system hardening, security controls, and compliance requirements.
- Automate system administration tasks using Ansible, Terraform, shell scripting, and Python.
- Manage and support physical servers, storage systems, networking, authentication services, and related infrastructure components.
- Maintain and support physical servers, storage systems, networking, authentication services, and related infrastructure components.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Support system integration efforts and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.
- Assist with Oracle database administration activities and support applications utilizing JSON-based data exchange.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or a technical discipline from an accredited institution, or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Four (4) additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Extensive experience with Red Hat/CentOS systems.
- Extensive experience installing, configuring, and maintaining JBoss and/or Wildfly.
- Extensive experience with VMWare - VM creation, configuration, and operation.
- Linux Administration Certification.
- Proficiency with Linux (CentOS, RHEL).
- Experience with RH Ansible.
- Familiarity with Oracle Databases and possibly DBA experience.
- Experience with storage, networking, security compliance, scripting (Python, Shell).

Salary Range: Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself. Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $175,000 - $225,000.
