About the role
This hybrid role requires working at least three days a week in one of Mercer’s east coast office locations. You will provide expertise and support in evaluating, shaping, and designing absence, paid time off, disability, and life programs, contributing to overall client health and productivity strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex client engagements, including managing overall service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, business placement, benchmarking, and other studies.
- Assist in developing sophisticated benefits design and renewal strategies while driving the development of tools and solutions to address complex client issues.
- Determine the full scope of services provided to the client and set roles/responsibilities within the client team.
- Be accountable for revenue/profitability for client accounts and projects.
- Generate sales by expanding revenues from existing clients and leading prospecting efforts with new clients.
- Establish effective carrier/vendor relationships to serve clients in benefits procurement and administration (eligibility, claims, billing, plan implementation, contracts, plan changes, and necessary amendments).
- Provide mentoring and coaching to direct reports and project team members.
- Delegate effectively to provide developmental opportunities to team members.

Requirements
- BA or BS.
- Minimum 8 years of Life, Absence, and Disability Insurance experience.
- Experience managing a team and people management.
- Experience with building and executing strategy within the client team.
- Strong client-facing skills within a consulting environment.
- Strong communication skills – ability to deliver positive and negative messages, along with project transparency.
- State Life/Health license.

Pay
The applicable base salary range for this role is $115,200 to $230,400. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives.
