SENIOR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

About the role

The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking a motivated Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join Emory L. Bennett Memorial State Veterans' Nursing Home in Daytona Beach, Volusia County. The facility offers competitive benefits and multiple shift options.

Responsibilities

- Provide quality care to veteran residents ensuring their health, safety, and security. - Administer medications and treatments according to medical orders. - Monitor and intervene to meet residents' needs. - Complete accurate clinical documentation reflecting the resident's status. - Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants and other support staff. - Evaluate and set goals for patient care. - Lead team conferences to develop individualized care plans. - Assign nursing care based on patient needs and staffing availability. - Direct and evaluate nursing care provided. - Assist with the orientation of new personnel. - Coordinate care during therapy or procedure schedules. - Communicate with patients and families about their conditions. - Record observations and report pertinent issues. - Assist physicians with special tests and procedures. - Maintain a clean and safe environment. - Participate in continuing education and quality improvement programs.

Requirements

- Licensure as a Practical Nurse. - One year of experience in providing practical nursing services. - Current CPR certification. - Knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. - Successful completion of the employment screening process, including background investigation and drug test.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with: - Experience administering medications in skilled nursing facilities. - Experience working with geriatric populations in long-term care settings.
