Senior Library Technician

The Town of Yarmouth, MA, is seeking a year-round full-time Senior Library Technician at South Yarmouth & West Yarmouth Libraries. The candidate must be reliable, flexible, have computer knowledge, and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist at the front desk, including checking materials in and out
• Answer phones and assist with requesting materials for library users
• Maintain positive communication with the public and perform other library tasks
• Provide ready reference and readers' advisory services
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for lengthy periods of time

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred and one or more years of relevant experience within a public library system, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• High comfort level with computers and a variety of reference resources
• Reputation for superior customer service
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with people of all ages, including volunteers, community partners, colleagues, and supervisors
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Must enjoy learning and have a helpful, friendly disposition
