About the role
NMSI Inc is a wholesale mortgage company offering an opportunity for a Senior Level Corporate Accountant. The position requires bilingual skills in Korean and English.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll processes.
- Prepare financial reports including monthly cash flows, balance sheets, and P&L for review and annual filing, including 1099s.
- Work on monthly accounting reports, resolving issues between operational departments and the accounting team.
- Perform house bank audits at least monthly or more often if required. Investigate and report any discrepancies to management.
- Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns.
- Meet with clients to discuss confidential accounting issues.
- Transact and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by assets, liabilities, and expenses).
- Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closures.
- Manage and prepare documents for audits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Korean, Mandarin, and Spanish are a plus).
- Demonstrated proficiency in financial accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Background in loan servicing or loan processing is preferred but not required.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Outstanding people skills and team player.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Solid experience in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
- Processes applications, policies, endorsements, binders, certificates, audit requests, and other items related to the servicing of clients.
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel for financial analysis.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- At least five years of accounting, financial, or loan processing experience preferred.
- Mortgage Accounting Experience/Background Preferred.
Pay
$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
