Senior Legal Counsel – United Kingdom (Remote)

About the Role

This is a newly-created network-level position that will oversee all operational legal needs across the business, designed for the ever-changing nature of legal requirements in a creative and media environment. The role is heavily operational, requiring someone who can run a high-volume legal function while simultaneously building strategy and infrastructure at scale. This is less of a compliance role and more of a legal strategy position within a growing creative media and advertising network.

Responsibilities

• Build a legal framework that governs how the agency network and its companies develop, deploy, and sell AI-enabled work.
• Lead ongoing data privacy initiatives, ensuring compliance with privacy and PII requirements.
• Develop and maintain a unified contracting approach, including MSAs, DPA framework, SOW, and licensing templates.
• Lead a team of legal and business affairs associates, focusing on team leadership and development.
• Support the legal integration of new companies into the network as it continues to grow via acquisitions.
• Provide legal advisory support across the network.

Requirements

• JD required; active bar membership in NY or CA.
• 10+ years of experience in legal roles with exposure to IP, commercial contracts, and technology or creative work.
• Demonstrated experience with AI-related legal matters.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and the international data privacy landscape.
• Experience in building and scaling legal infrastructure in a multi-entity or network environment.
