Senior Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Compliance teams to design and launch new financial products
• Advises on various legal matters impacting the business, such as securities and AML/ATF regulations
• Lead regulatory initiatives, supporting audits, licensing work, and policy development
• Provide practical, business-focused legal advice to leaders across different teams
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI to enhance legal processes
• Assist with additional legal matters, including commercial agreements and corporate governance

Qualifications

• CAN-qualified lawyer with 5+ years of experience, ideally in fintech, payments, financial services, or crypto
• Ability to operate independently within a lean team and move work forward without heavy oversight
• Business-oriented legal judgment focused on product or business outcomes
• Comfortable advising product and operational teams on ambiguous legal issues
• Strong communication skills, translating complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders

Pay

$150,000 – $220,000 annually
