Job Summary

The Department of Student Development (SD) in the College of Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is seeking a qualified candidate to join a dedicated and accomplished community of faculty, students, and staff as the Clinical Educator in School Psychology. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position beginning in September 2026.

Essential Functions

• Organizing, supervising, and mentoring students through the sequential clinical experiences required for licensure in school psychology.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the department, the College of Education, and in schools in the nearby community to improve the field of school psychology in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Taking a leadership role in developing and supervising clinical field experiences for graduate students in School Psychology.
• Teaching courses that support clinical skill development in the School Psychology.
• Advising and directing Ed.S. students specializing in School Psychology.
• Supporting administrative tasks of data collection, management, and reporting for purposes of maintaining program accreditation.
• Providing service to the School Psychology profession and the University of Massachusetts’s College of Education.

Minimum Qualifications

• Holds a doctorate in School Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Demonstrates evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring graduate students or early career professionals in school psychology.
• Demonstrates skill in scholarly inquiry in School Psychology.
• Ability to become an outstanding teacher and clinical supervisor at the university level.
• At least 6 years of experience, professionally certified in School Psychology in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Strong teaching and clinical supervision skills to graduate students.
• Strong professional relationships with K-12 school psychology practitioners in Massachusetts.
• Experience supervising graduate students and early career School Psychologists in practice.

Additional Details

• The College of Education includes three (3) departments and serves approximately 400 undergraduate students and 400 graduate students.
• The College maintains approximately 240 employee appointments, including tenure system faculty, part-time and full-time lecturers, permanent and temporary staff members, post-doctoral research associates, graduate teaching assistants, and student employees.
• Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.
• Work Schedule and Work Arrangement: Flexible - dependent on course schedules.
