The Human Resources and Payroll team within Auxiliary Services supports employee and labor relations, learning and development, recruiting, hiring, compensation, and payroll services for the division. We are seeking a Senior Learning & Development Specialist to lead training initiatives and organizational development solutions for all business units.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Associate Director of Food Safety, Quality Assurance & Compliance to coordinate, schedule, and track mandatory compliance and regulatory training, including food safety, workplace safety, and other required certifications. Maintain accurate records of completion and ensure staff meet certification deadlines.
  • Administer the department’s customer feedback program. Monitor incoming responses, identify trends and recurring issues, and communicate findings to operational managers. Recommend and implement training-based solutions when feedback indicates a performance or knowledge gap.
  • Manage all content and scheduling for push notifications on the department mobile app. Develop clear, timely, and audience-appropriate messaging. Oversee content displayed on department digital monitors, ensuring displays are current, accurate, and aligned with operational priorities.
  • Lead and facilitate new hire orientation for all incoming employees. Develop and maintain orientation content to ensure consistency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with departmental culture and operational standards.
  • Create position-specific training and development programs that facilitate career progression within the department and provide opportunities for promoting from within.
  • Collaborate with Auxiliary Services Directors, Associate Directors, and unit Managers/Directors to design, develop, and implement strategic learning and organizational development solutions.
  • Lead a team of learning and organizational development specialists while serving as a valued consultant, master presenter, and facilitator.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in developing and conducting training classes and instructional materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000–$94,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Schedule

May be required to work weekends, evenings, and/or holidays. Must have full availability to support the needs of the business.
