looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will represent Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) to provide relevant inputs for New Product Development programs (NPD) as outlined below.

Senior/Lead NPD Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Attend NPD meetings (Includes weekly Engineering & Team meetings, FMEA, Gate Reviews, Design Reviews)
  • Represent SQE
  • Present status of SQE department responsibilities such as PPAP approval status and corrective actions to all management levels
  • Cookordination Commodity SQE involvement as needed
  • Assist Procurement Program Manager in assuring that adequate design/print/technical reviews occur with Suppliers and Commodity SQEs for new outsourced parts
  • Provide input as to part manufacturability and provide improvement suggestions to Copeland Product / Design Engineering
  • Involvement Commodity SQEs as appropriate to provide DFM input to promote robust product manufacturability and quality
  • Maintain project & PPAP status list of new and changed part numbers for programs assigned
  • Communicate upcoming milestones to commodity SQEs to maintain overall project schedule
  • Prepare presentations as required to communicate program status to various levels of the organization

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field plus five (5) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience
  • Quality engineering experience including knowledge and experience in: APQP; Flow Charting; Control plans; FMEA; DFM; Statistical Process Control; Measurement System Analysis (Gage R&R); Problem Solving; Corrective Action; Process Improvement Techniques
  • Quality Systems; ISO 9000 and/or TS16949
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications including GD&T
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes used in relevant commodities

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering plus ten (10) years experience
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or MBA
  • Certifications in ASQ (CQA, CQE, CQM)
  • Certified 6 Sigma Green Belt or Equivalent
  • A broad knowledge of various manufacturing processes
  • Quality Auditing (Systems and processes)
  • Advanced statistics, problem solving and process improvement techniques
  • Broad knowledge of Copeland LP products such as product function / application, customer expectations, and material properties

This location is the headquarters for the HVACR Americas business unit.
