Senior Lead Software Engineer, Fullstack (Nodejs/Go/Angularjs)
About the role
As a Capital One Senior Lead Software Engineer, you’ll be part of a dynamic team focused on driving innovation and transformation within Capital One. Your role will involve leading technology projects, collaborating with product managers, and delivering robust cloud-based solutions that enhance customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with expertise in distributed microservices and full-stack systems
- Create solutions that meet regulatory needs for the company
- Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and participate in technology communities
- Mentor other members of the engineering community
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver powerful experiences for millions of Americans
- Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go
- Work with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases
- Utilize container orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes
- Leverage AWS and other cloud services
- Implement and utilize interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 6 years of experience in software engineering
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, AngularJs, NodeJs, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Go
- 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
- 1+ years of people management experience
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
- Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role vary by location:
- Cambridge, MA: $229,900 - $262,400
- McLean, VA: $229,900 - $262,400
- Richmond, VA: $209,000 - $238,500
