Senior Lead Software Engineer - API Specialist

Job Responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
- Quickly develop proof-of-concept solutions to prove feasibility of technological solutions.
- Proactively communicate with management and business stakeholders.
- Lead pilot projects to test new technologies and methodologies, evaluating their potential impact on the firm.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 6+ years of applied experience.
- Seasoned experience and practical skills in API Security like OAuth 2.0, JWT, JWS, JWE, OPA, and IDP like ForgeRock, Okta or similar OIDC/SAML providers.
- Experience with API Management platform e.g., Kong, Apigee, MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, WSO2.
- Strong hands-on REST API best practice, design, and development experience.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with architects, technical/non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong architecture background/principles to recommend/advocate/influence over-arching technical/application architecture in the API ecosystem.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Full stack software engineer with excellent knowledge of Core Java, J2EE, Core Spring Framework, including sub-projects like Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
- Excellent programming and problem-solving skills with 100% hands-on development, support, bug fixes, and user management skills.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, DynamoDB, MongoDB.
- Experience implementing code quality tools like SONAR, Checkstyle, PMD, etc.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Experience with open banking frameworks (OBIE, Berlin Group, FDX) and payments or account information flows.
- Experience with perimeter security to secure API endpoints and proxy.
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager or similar content management tools.
- Practical cloud-native experience; AWS experience is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS KMS, AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS S3, SQS, Event Bridge, PostgreSQL is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning tools like Terraform and Cloud Formation is an advantage.
