Job Description

  • Identify appropriate protection and control schemes for transmission and distribution substations
  • Select protection devices and ensure proper equipment sizing and material procurement
  • Prepare scopes of work, estimates, and drawing packages including wiring diagrams, schematics, protection panels, one-line, and three-line diagrams
  • Perform load calculations for panels, battery systems, voltage drop, and other substation components
  • Ensure adherence to client standards and industry regulations related to relay protection
  • Interface with clients and vendors to ensure project alignment and technical accuracy
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
  • Collaborate with internal teams to revise and maintain design/construction scope processes
  • P&C Design: Develop P&C packages including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, relays, communication diagrams, SCADA points
  • Conduct battery sizing, voltage drop, and conduit fill calcs
  • Develop relay settings and perform arc flash and coordination studies
  • Interface with SCADA/RTAC systems and vendors for major equipment submittals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited)
  • 5-10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus in power systems, renewable energy, or substations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office, and at least one power system analysis software
  • EIT or PE certification is preferred, or ability to obtain in the future
