Senior/Lead Character Concept Artist (Stylized)

About the Role

Collaborate with Product Managers, Art Managers, and Directors to define and establish the character art style, developing character concept design templates and style guides.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Art Managers, and Directors to define and establish the character art style, developing character concept design templates and style guides
• Work closely with 3D character artists, animators, and VFX artists to ensure the successful implementation of designs into the game
• Utilize the game engine editor (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) to adjust and finalize the in-game look and feel of characters
• Create high-quality character concept designs as part of the core design tasks
• Review, critique, and provide clear feedback on character designs submitted by outsourcing partners/vendors, guiding them to meet quality and style standards
• Mentor junior artists by creating training materials, sharing design experience, and fostering a collaborative and creative team environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of experience in character concept art, with a portfolio showcasing high-quality stylized character designs
• Proven experience leading design initiatives or a small team is highly preferred
• Strong fundamental art skills, including a deep understanding of anatomy, form, color theory, and composition
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately interpret project needs and deliver high-quality results efficiently
• A strong sense of responsibility, a high level of commitment, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team to achieve shared goals
• Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Photoshop, ZBrush)
• A strong capacity for learning, with a proactive attitude toward researching and adopting new tools, techniques, and technologies
• A genuine passion for gaming and a keen eye for player experience, actively contributing ideas to improve the game

Art Style: Stylized (Similar to Valorant, Fortnite, Overwatch)
Location: Singapore, Malaysia, North America. Remote work is acceptable.
