About the role

Wells Fargo is seeking an independent and self-starting analytics professional who will focus on data engineering, modeling, and AI deployment to enable identification and mitigation of current and emerging risks, including employee misconduct, employee-enabled fraud, regulatory, and reputational risks. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the transformation of our analytics team as we move into an AI-assisted analytics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring analytical application of industry techniques and advanced data from multiple sources across the enterprise.
  • Deliver solutions that are long-term, large-scale, and require vision, innovation, and coordination of highly complex activities.
  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions that align to the enterprise.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and legal regulations and policies on all projects managed.
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Analytics, Reporting, Financial Modeling or Statistics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, machine learning, and production-grade development.
  • Experience taking AI/ML systems from prototype to production, including monitoring and lifecycle management.
  • Practical experience applying GenAI and AI assisted or agentic tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) for analytics or automation and to establish scalable, repeatable monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with data quality practices, schema design, metadata management, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to guide teams on data cleaning, validation, and exploratory analysis.
  • Practical experience with model selection, training, evaluation, and iteration.
  • Familiarity with model evaluation techniques, including designing custom evaluation approaches when standard metrics are insufficient.
  • Experience analyzing unstructured and large-scale datasets with complex processing requirements.
  • Demonstrated risk detection or anomaly and pattern identification experience in analytics or monitoring use cases.
  • Familiarity with modern development practices (e.g., reusable patterns, configuration driven or cloud native approaches).
  • Experience building, testing, and automating production ready analytics pipelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytics into clear, actionable insights.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, exploratory environments typical of proof of concept and innovation work.

Pay Range

$139,000.00 - $239,000.00
