Senior Landfill Engineer/Solid Waste-PE

Responsibilities

• Planning, scheduling, developing, coordinating, directing, and managing large and small design and master planning projects with many complex features.
• Developing and evaluating plans and criteria for a variety of projects as well as planning and coordinating activities to be carried out by others including in-house engineers, designers, and geologists and outside specialty consultants.
• Preparing various types of related reports and studies and securing permitting for projects.
• Managing all project responsibilities of multi-discipline teams.
• Teaching and mentoring of younger staff located in offices throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
• Leading projects from planning and preliminary engineering through design and construction.
• Maintaining effective communication with project team members, regulators, and clients.
• Making presentations to clients and regulatory agencies.
• Making presentations to senior management.
• Traveling to other offices and clients’ facilities to better understand site conditions and design considerations and to monitor construction progress.

Requirements

• A BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with 10 to 15 years of experience, including solid waste or closely related projects.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Enthusiastic about all aspects of engineering and project management.
• Capable of leading projects from planning and preliminary engineering through design and construction.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to teach and mentor junior staff as well as communicate effectively with project team members, regulators and clients.
• Willing and capable of traveling throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
