About the role
There is one position available that will be filled at either the Labor Relations Specialist or Senior Labor Relations Specialist level based on the selected candidate’s experience, skills, and abilities. This role supports and administers the organization’s labor relations programs, serving as a key resource to management, employees, and labor representatives. It applies working knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and employee relations best practices to manage day-to-day labor relations activities and more complex issues.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to arbitration preparation, investigations, and dispute resolution while supporting constructive labor–management relationships across union and non-union facilities.
- Participates in collective bargaining processes, interprets and applies contract provisions, monitors compliance, and manages grievance and disciplinary matters through resolution.
- Leverages working knowledge of employment legislation, labor agreements, and best practices in labor relations.
Requirements
- Labor Relations Specialist: 2-3+ years of related experience in labor relations, human resources, or a related field. A Master's degree counts as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year.
- Senior Labor Relations Specialist: 5+ years of related experience in labor relations, human resources, or a related field. A Master's degree counts as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge in project management, analysis, or investigations skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to establish constructive working relationships internally and with union leaders.
- Advanced knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining principles (Senior level).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted.
- Preferred disciplines: Business, Human Resources, Liberal Arts. Other disciplines may be substituted.
- Preferred certifications: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Schedule
Hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking).
Pay
Expected hiring base salary range: $90,900 - $118,100. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
