Senior Labor Relations Advisor
About the role
CalHR is looking to welcome a Labor Relations Manager I to its Childcare Providers Labor Relations Division. The ideal candidate will have a highly analytical and creative approach to problem solving and be dynamic, hardworking, and willing to learn the complexities of Childcare Providers Labor Relations.
Responsibilities
- Consult with non-labor relations professionals on labor relations practices, policies, and procedures
- Negotiate labor agreements and support or assist with negotiations
- Analyze, develop, and implement labor relations strategies
- Handle grievances and serve as a representative at joint labor-management committees, grievance conferences, arbitrations, and evidentiary hearings

Desirable Qualifications
- Ability to confidently and effectively communicate through written and oral communication
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment and confidentiality
- Ability to supervise, train, and mentor a labor relations team
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint), Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other virtual platforms

Pay
$8,715.00 – $9,899.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Schedule
Permanent, full-time. Employees are required to work in-person at least four days per week; additional in-office days may be required based on operational needs.
