Senior Lab Technician - Seneca
About the role
You will perform routine, semi-routine, and/or moderately complex chemical and physical analyses on a variety of materials supporting production activities in a fast-paced, aggressive, customer-service environment; with variable demands and a steep learning curve.
You will be responsible for higher level tasks such as training other technicians, authoring work instructions, editing control charts, and supervising work permits in the lab.
You will set up and operate a variety of simple to moderately complex laboratory equipment and instruments, within predefined parameters while working across multiple labs.
You will conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to make qualitative and quantitative material analyses.
You will work with a high level of attention to detail while maintaining necessary records and accepting responsibility for all test results.
You will assist with inventory control of chemicals and apparatuses.
You will troubleshoot analytical processes with guidance.
You will use your knowledge of safety regulations and proper material handling procedures associated with chemical operations while working in compliance with all EHS standards.
You will work with hazardous chemicals daily, having proper respect for the inherent hazards and strict adherence to PPE or other safety requirements.
You will adhere to ISO standards and good quality control practices.
You will complete initial and ongoing on-the-job training as needed.
You will manage multiple tasks and projects including on-site customer requests.

Requirements
- Associate degree in a related discipline with 3 years lab experience OR a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related discipline.

Pay
The competitive Pay Rate for this role is $27.00/hr. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Schedule
Work a 12-hour schedule, day or night shift.
