What You’ll Do
- Lead Drawings: Coordinate and develop comprehensive commercial construction documents using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Drive Permitting: Prepare applications and act as the primary contact for local jurisdictions to clear plan checks smoothly.
- Manage Consultants: Oversee base files, coordinate progress drawings, and compile stamped sets for architectural cover sheets.
- Conduct Field Work: Take a hands-on approach with site visits, as-built surveys, accessibility reviews, and construction administration.
- Protect Quality: Submit your projects to our dedicated QA/QC team, ensuring flawless fire, life safety, and building code compliance.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Empower Designers: Direct, review, and redline the work of Architectural Designers and Senior Architectural Designers. Foster Growth: Actively mentor support staff to help them improve their skills and advance their careers. Delegate Effectively: Distribute tasks strategically to draft and administrative staff to optimize project speed.
- Business & Client Management: Track Financials: Monitor overall project budgets, provide hourly budget estimates to support staff, and update weekly completion percentages to keep projects profitable. Lead Communication: Act as a direct point of contact for clients on CD and permit questions, responding within a target 24-to-48-hour window. Support Growth: Assist the management team with project proposals by estimating required CAD hours, attend project meetings, and bring forward business development ideas for existing or new clients.
- Administer Operations: Manage purchase orders, notify your manager of workload changes to protect billable targets, and complete billable timesheets accurately and timely.
What You Bring to the Team
- 5+ years of professional experience producing and coordinating commercial architectural construction documents.
- Technical Mastery: Exceptional proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Commercial Knowledge: Solid background in detailing wall sections and building elements across various commercial project types.
- Code Literacy: A foundational understanding of general building, fire safety, and accessibility codes.
- Agility: The ability to stay organized and balance multiple projects efficiently in a high-energy environment.
