Senior JIT/JIS Logistics Process Engineer

About the role

This role is based out of Blythewood, SC and requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop JIT and JIS processes, concepts, and equipment to ensure timely and accurate delivery of modules from suppliers to the point of fit on the assembly line.
  • Manage and optimize material flow processes, covering the entire path from supplier facilities to dock doors and through internal logistics to the final point of use in production.
  • Collaborate with JIT/JIS suppliers to resolve delivery and quality issues, ensuring stable and efficient supply chain operations.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to execute JIT/JIS strategies and ensure alignment across all departments involved in the end-to-end material flow.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce lead times, enhance supplier performance, and optimize logistics processes from supplier origin to final assembly fit.
  • Coordinate the awarding of suppliers for equipment and implement in line with SOP requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to drive successful execution of JIT/JIS logistics strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on the automotive industry, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or JIT/JIS process management within the automotive industry.
  • Experience and knowledge of VDA, ISO, and other standards and regulations for the automotive industry.
  • Experience in performing process audits.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, including steering and evaluating change requests, and their application in automotive environments.
  • Experience with route optimization and traffic management tools/software (e.g., TMS, WMS), JIS logistics, and/or material flow planning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of compliance requirements, including safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize complex processes.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-technology environment.
