Senior Java Software Developer

About the role

Leidos is seeking a Senior Java Software Developer to join a large and diverse team at Huntsville, AL (Redstone Arsenal). The team develops software products used for critical test, planning, and training for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and provides analysis, and testing support for complex MDA radar systems.

Responsibilities

• Function as the focal point for ensuring the existing software product is scalable for integrating additional sensor model representations and supporting various levels of functionality for each new sensor type.
• Work with an established team of software developers and interface regularly with a diverse team of systems and radar engineers.
• Represent Leidos technically, professionally, and ethically while working daily on-site at customer facilities on a multi-contractor team and interacting with industry partners and the government customer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering, or a related STEM discipline, with 12-15 years of experience in computer science or software development.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or a related STEM discipline, with 10-13 years of experience in computer science or software development.
• Significant knowledge and experience in Java.
• Experience using C++ and developing and maintaining interfaces between Java and C++ applications.
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes, along with a general understanding of containerization concepts.
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
• MUST possess and be able to maintain a SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Self-starter with the ability to work well with both junior and senior level software developers.

Skills

• Significant experience using the GitLab environment and Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines.
• Experience in developing 3D visualization GUIs using Java.
• Experience in modeling & simulation software.

Benefits

Pay Range: $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
