About the role

We are seeking an experienced Java/JEE Developer to design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices supporting a large-scale electronic filing platform. The selected candidate will develop microservices using Spring Boot, Kafka, JAX-RS Services, JPA/Hibernate, and Red Hat OpenShift.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Java/JEE components using Kafka, Spring REST Services, and Spring Boot (70%)
  • Perform unit and development-level integration testing as needed (20%)
  • Perform code maintenance to support testing activities, customer testing, and production issue resolution (10%)

Requirements

  • Java/JEE microservices development using Spring REST and Spring Boot (8 years)
  • Integrating Kafka for event-driven workflows (4 years)
  • Kafka Administration (2 years)
  • Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code (1 year)
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (4 years)
  • Developing automated unit tests using JUnit (4 years)
  • Experience using Eclipse, Spring Tool Suite (STS), or JBoss Studio (4 years)
  • Experience using GitHub and Jira (3 years)
  • Oracle Exadata (2 years)
  • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), formerly Rational Team Concert (RTC)
  • CMMI Level 3
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Agile methodologies and Scrum Master experience
  • Maven
