About the Role
BNY is seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Developer to lead the development, support, and modernization of critical business applications. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and platform ownership across both legacy and new application development. The role is based in Pittsburgh, PA, with an expectation of 4 days onsite per week.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of business-critical applications across the full software lifecycle.
- Support legacy applications while helping build new solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
- Work directly with business teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical recommendations, and deliver effective solutions.
- Own both build and run responsibilities, including application maintenance, resiliency, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Design and support APIs, microservices, event-driven solutions, and data integrations with a focus on scalability, resiliency, and security.
- Drive CI/CD, release management, testing practices, and engineering standards to improve software quality and delivery.
- Provide technical guidance, support code reviews, and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant responsibility for production systems.
- Proven experience owning both development and support for business-critical applications.
- Strong full stack engineering experience with Java and Angular.
- Experience with Java Spring Boot.
- Experience with APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, and messaging technologies such as Kafka or MQ.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, or Docker.
- Strong experience with CI/CD, testing strategies, and DevOps practices.
- Solid understanding of application security, IAM, secrets management, and vulnerability management.
- AI-driven development experience required.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience with Oracle and SQL Server.
- Exposure to Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, or data warehousing initiatives.
- Experience with AI/ML-enabled features or analytics platforms.
- Experience working in a regulated enterprise environment.

Pay
Pay Rate Range: 68.8 - 86 USD hourly.
