About The Role Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a three-month contract with a regional financial institution. The position is based in Columbus, Ohio, with candidates also considered in Detroit, Dallas, Charlotte, and Chicago. Compensation is $65.00 to $68.00 per hour on a W-2 basis, depending on qualifications. The Programmer Analyst Senior will provide technical and consultative support on complex matters and lead code development for the client’s Installments product. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support Java-based solutions within a payments ecosystem. The application supports high-volume installment payment origination, processing, and settlement, serving customer- and colleague-facing interfaces. This role works across cloud services, infrastructure automation, integrations, and DevSecOps practices to deliver secure, reliable solutions. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience are preferred. Alternatively, an additional four years of relevant work experience may be considered in place of the bachelor’s degree. Candidates should have at least five years of experience with one or more major cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure; five years supporting infrastructure-as-code automation, preferably Terraform; and five years of coding or scripting experience. Strong candidates bring analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with a customer-service mindset. Experience with Agile delivery, Azure DevOps Services, CI/CD pipelines, and Git is valuable. Familiarity with cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), and Terraform Validator policies using OPA or Rego is also desirable. Cloud or infrastructure-as-code certifications are a plus. Candidates should be adaptable, self-motivated, collaborative, and effective in dynamic, multi-platform environments. Responsibilities Design, code, test, deploy, and support Java solutions for the payments ecosystem. Analyze user specifications and translate business and technical requirements into effective system designs. Apply GCP services, command-line tools, and integrations to deliver cloud-based solutions, and use DevSecOps toolchains and processes throughout development. Provide technical assistance in diagnosing and resolving hardware or software issues, and apply appropriate development and support tools. Maintain awareness of relevant technology and industry trends, particularly those affecting the client’s environment. Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and business groups to support dependable delivery. You may also help identify training needs or support the development of less experienced staff. Perform other duties as assigned.
