Position Summary
Standish Management is seeking a Senior IT Solutions Engineer whose primary value lies in business process transformation — not infrastructure management. This person is first and foremost a business problem-solver who happens to know the Microsoft stack deeply.
Key Responsibilities
- Power Platform Center of Excellence (COE)
- Design, build, and govern a Power Platform COE that defines standards, accelerates adoption, and ensures quality across the firm
- Establish a reusable component library, solution templates, and deployment pipelines
- Define environment strategy, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and license governance
- Create onboarding pathways and self-service resources for business users
- Champion the COE internally — building business unit champions and a community of practice
- Business Process Improvement & Automation
- Partner with business units to uncover inefficiencies and translate them into Power Platform solutions
- Design and implement workflow automation using Power Automate and Power Apps
- Map current-state vs. future-state processes; document and communicate change clearly
- Eliminate manual, error-prone processes across finance, operations, and client services
- Apply AI Builder and Copilot Studio capabilities where they can accelerate outcomes
- Data & Reporting — Power BI
- Translate business questions and KPIs into Power BI dashboards and reports
- Build and maintain semantic data models that integrate data from across firm systems
- Enable self-service analytics for business users — with guardrails and governance
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure reporting answers the questions that matter most
- SharePoint Migration & Client Portal
- Lead the migration of SharePoint content to a well-governed SharePoint Online environment
- Design and build a client-facing portal using Microsoft Pages and SharePoint — enabling secure document sharing and communication with investment manager clients
- Establish information architecture, metadata standards, permissions models, and lifecycle policies
- Ensure the portal meets client expectations for usability, branding, and access control
- Secondary Responsibilities
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Support M365 tenant administration, governance, security, and compliance alignment
- Collaborate with our MSP on day-to-day platform operations and escalations
- Contribute to license management, user lifecycle, and conditional access policies
- Monitor platform health and support Copilot and AI feature rollouts
- Mentorship & Enablement
- Mentor junior IT staff on Power Platform development and M365 best practices
- Develop training materials, runbooks, and internal documentation
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and platform literacy across the firm
- Technology Strategy & Innovation
- Evaluate automation, AI, and Microsoft Copilot opportunities across business functions
- Stay current with Microsoft's product roadmap and emerging capabilities
- Contribute to the firm's broader AI strategy as a subject matter expert on the Microsoft ecosystem
- Microsoft 365 Administration
Expected salary range
$140,000 – $160,000 base salary (Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, and location)
