Senior IT Security Engineer

About the role

Executes cloud security controls, designs security controls for cloud applications, reviews designs, and provides security feedback. Collaborates with security incident responders and researches security industry developments.

Responsibilities

• Intercepts and prevents internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company data or systems.
• Works with the security architecture team to design security controls for cloud applications and functions.
• Collaborates with various teams in the department to review designs and provide security feedback.
• Designs and implements cloud-native security controls for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Responds to operation support issue escalations and resolves performance and availability issues.
• Provides expertise in the design of security sensors used in incident analysis.
• Researches developments in the security industry and assesses organization's needs.
• Proposes options and drives improvements of techniques, methodologies, services, and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related field and 7+ years of experience in security systems technologies OR
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience in security systems technologies and ISACA, SANS, ISC(2), or CEH Certification.
• Masters degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience in security systems technologies OR
• Masters degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related field and 4+ years of experience in security systems technologies and ISACA, SANS, ISC(2), or CEH Certification.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with security regulations and standards.
• Effective communication skills in cross-disciplinary groups.

Qualifications

• Experience in Microsoft Azure public cloud.
• Experience with PaaS and IaaS implementation.
• Knowledge of cloud networking in a public cloud environment.
• Experience with cloud-native security capabilities such as Azure Security Center, Defender for Storage, and Defender for Office.
• Experience in Application Security is a plus.

Benefits

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $112,000-$160,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
