About the role

We are currently searching for a Senior IT Project Manager. The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for carrying out IT Department objectives in the areas of project management, analysis, planning and implementation. This position acts as a resource for IT Department staff to assist in planning, coaching, mentoring, development and growth of the IT organization. The Senior Project Manager works closely with members of firmwide management, Directors and Chiefs to implement strategic firmwide initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform meeting facilitation, issue management, risk management, conflict management, budget forecasting, tracking, and communication activities
  • Adhere to the department’s standard Project Methodology in all technology initiatives
  • Provide strategic advice and consult on the design and implementation of effective IT business processes across Firm to include process analysis, redesign, reengineering and overall IT organizational effectiveness
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
  • Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to client
  • Effectively apply our methodology and enforce project standards
  • Prepare for PMO Project Reviews and quality assurance procedures
  • Minimize exposure and risk on project by monitoring project progress, schedule, budget deviation, customer satisfaction and proactively reporting to senior project management
  • Develop/update project plans, implement schedules and cost estimates for projects
  • Deliver projects within time and cost agreed upon tolerances
  • Direct, motivate and coordinate the people on assigned projects
  • Exhibits an expert ability to impact and influence project outcomes
  • Works with multiple teams, delegating workload and ensuring team efficiency
  • Produce all relevant reports using the PMO Project tool
  • Works and educates others outside of IS on department’s standard Project Methodology
  • Document, obtain approval, and track all changes in project scope
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Utilize Firm Project Management Tools and trains users in the tools
  • Communicate routinely with project team member’s management to give feedback on project resources and address issues
  • Participate in the establishment/implementation of short and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures; monitors and provides timely management reporting
  • Represent the projects/assignments to various internal components as directed
  • Communicate regularly with PMO and IS Management staff regarding the status of current project initiatives
  • Obtain IS Management approval as required to advance initiatives

Qualifications

  • 10 years of IT experience and 5 years experience in technical project management with systems-related activities is preferred; previous law firm experience desired
  • PMP Certification required
  • A four year degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field

  • Ability to manage time and resources directed to multiple projects / assignments
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to act independently, taking accountability for their actions and others work, yet communicate closely with management for status and direction setting
  • Strong structure project methodology experience
  • Goal oriented and action/result focused
  • Pragmatic and self-disciplined and organized
  • Strong knowledge in MS Project, MS Office and Visio

Pay

Salary $97,000 – $182,000. The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
