About the role
We're looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to own and evolve the Range iOS experience. You'll shape how members interact with their financial life on mobile. This is a high-ownership role on a small, fast-moving team where what you build ships to members quickly and visibly. You'll work closely with product, design, and other engineers to define what mobile-first wealth management looks like. You won't just implement specs. You'll challenge them, improve them, and push the craft of iOS development forward at Range.
Responsibilities
- Own major product surfaces on iOS end-to-end
- Drive technical direction for the iOS codebase, shape conventions other engineers follow, and ensure what we ship feels as good as what we designed
- Partner directly with product and design to influence what gets built, not just how
- Bring clarity to ambiguous situations and speak up when something isn't good enough
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar on the team through the quality of your work and code reviews
Requirements
- 5+ years of mobile development experience, with meaningful time spent building and shipping consumer-facing apps
- Expertise in Swift and SwiftUI
- Experience architecting modular, testable iOS applications
- Track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar on a team
- Excellent communication skills—you can articulate technical tradeoffs to engineers and non-engineers alike
What will set you apart
- 0 to 1 mobile product experience
- Excellent product instincts—you think about users first, not the cleverest technical solution
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems without being told exactly what to do
- Security engineering experience
- Fintech experience
- Startup experience
Who you are
- A builder who cares about shipping real things to real people and doesn’t wait for perfect requirements
- Craft-obsessed—you sweat the details like animations, transitions, scroll performance, and accessibility
- A product thinker who considers how a feature feels in someone’s hands and pushes back on designs that won’t work well on device
- A leader by example who raises the bar through your work, code reviews, and helping others grow
- Obsessed with the member—you take seriously that our members trust us with their financial lives
Not for you if
- You need a defined process before you can start working
- You think mobile is just a smaller screen for the same experience
- You’d rather wait for a spec than shape the product yourself
- You optimize for consensus over conviction
- You think “move fast” means lowering the bar
Benefits
- 100% employer-covered medical insurance for employees (75% for dependents), plus dental and vision coverage
- 401(k) retirement savings program
- Paid time off to reset and recharge, plus most federal holidays
- Comprehensive parental leave policy for growing families
- Select meals covered throughout the week
- Monthly movement stipend for fitness
- Equity and career growth with early exercise eligibility and a strong focus on professional development
- Annual compensation reviews with salary and equity refreshes based on performance
- Boomerang Program: After two years at Range, you can take time away to start your own company. We’ll hold your spot for 6 months—and pause your equity vesting, which resumes if you return
